Lauterbrunnen is a must-visit place in Switzerland. This tiny village located in the heart of the Swiss Alps is a mountain paradise with 72 waterfalls, rivers, an amazing valley and iconic streets. If you plan to visit during peak season, try to get there as early as possible. Otherwise, it will quickly fill up with tourists. So, it will be hard to photograph or really enjoy it ! One of the most popular spots in Lauterbrunnen is the 300m high Staubbach Falls. You can hike up there to see the falls up close. However, there are many photo spots that include the amazing spray of these falls. Of course, in a mountain paradise like Lauterbrunnen, there are plenty of activities you can do to take advantage of its special location in the valley. Our advice is to make the most of your time in Lauterbrunnen !
2-Grindelwald
Another gem of the Swiss Alps is the famous village of Grindelwald. Located in the Bernese Alps, it is a unique destination for skiing in winter and mainly hiking in summer. Interlaken is one of those places that looks like something straight out of a fairytale. It is also a great starting point for your trips to the villages of the Swiss Alps. From there, you can take the train directly and visit them easily. We were amazed by the color of the lake water ! This tiny Swiss village is located in the Interlaken district. So, you can easily visit it as a day trip from Interlaken. The South Korean series “Crash Landing on You” filmed one of the most beautiful scenes there.
5-Lake Blausee
We couldn’t end this list without adding Lake Blausee to our trip to the Swiss Alps. This well-known lake is located in the Blausee Nature Park, just 35 minutes from Interlaken. It is easily accessible either by car or public transport. The deep blue color of the water, the amazing surroundings and the interesting activites make it such a special place to visit all year round ! We suggest you take a day trip to Lake Blausee to fully experience its beauty.
